bio // Amanda Murphy
I am an award winning local artist prolific in Chicago area art shows. Raised in Elk Grove Village, IL, I was trained in black and white film photography using the wet darkroom beginning at a young age. After graduating Augustana College, I moved to a fully digital process for all my work.
I have been active in the local art scene since 2006. Engaging with the community and bringing smiles to both old and young has been a very rewarding experience.
My current body of work combines contemporary, whimsical and childlike themes. The "Kid in Me" series is influenced by my desire to laugh, play and be a kid again. The use of bright saturated color evokes a pop art feel in these photographs.
Most of all, I enjoy creating happy art!

Matted prints are offered in a variety of standard sizes. Framed and matted prints are also available, with a variety of frame styles.
Images are printed using archival pigment inks onto a variety of professional, fine art and photo papers. The prints are then mounted onto acid free boards and over-matted with rag mat. All matting and framing materials are of archival quality. Framed photos are further protected with UV filtering glass or UV filtering, non-glare acrylic.
